Herman, a liontamer in a circus, loves his assistant Clea. Then Alessandro the postman falls in love with Clea and they start having an affair. The jealous Herman orders the clown Andrea to spy on the loving couple. When it becomes apparent that he really is being deceived, the liontamer feeds his beloved and her lover to the lions.
