The time in which a young TV drama scriptwriter was supposed to finish his new script is almost at an end. He faces the deepest creative crisis in his career. No inspiration. No time. No hope. The investors demand his head. His last chance is an old Romanian cupboard. Deadline is a little thriller about the way a text is born. The word ‘deadline’ in this case also has a literary meaning: if the hero doesn’t manage to finish his task in time, he will be killed. The film smartly reflects the situation of a Russian filmmaker nowadays, who often is financed by Mafia structures.
