My Frontier is an Endless Wall of Points
In the 19th century exploration was geographic. But in the 20th century this notion of the ‘unknown’ changed, exploration turned inward. The new realms to be explored were the molecule (Niels Bohr), the unconscious (Sigmund Freud), language (Gertrud Stein) or the outskirts of the mind (Henri Michaux). This psychedelic documentary literally animates Michaux’ mescaline drawings and his idea of a ‘venture into foreign territory.’
