It was a German record producer who came up with the genre label. Although too often described as one of the least cool music styles ever created, this is a sparkling and catchy music documentary, accompanied by great 1980s graphics and visuals. Its futuristic claim now appears to be justified: in the present day, it is played again or sampled by many DJs. Next time you hear ‘Dolce Vita’, you will recognise more than just the lyrics.
